I gave my persuasive speech on Friday and it went well. I did not get as nervous as I used to. It felt great getting it over with. I talked about going on planned short term mission trips in order to make sure you will have an important role on the trip and that you can make a difference. I got questioned at the end so I guess my audience was interested in what I talked about.
Also I played tennis this weekend. It was great. I am getting better, but I almost sprained my ankle so that was scary. I can not wait for summer time so I can play everyday and get a tan.
I took one of my friends out for his birthday. You might know him his name is Sam and he works at the International Grill in PCB. He turned twenty and we decided to go to Zuma fun center. We drove the go carts and you guessed it Sam won. I would have won, but he took me out on the last lap so I ended up coming in last. The cool thing was I played this game that literally requires no skill. You just put two tokens in and it drops a ball in a spinning wheel. Whatever the ball lands in is what you get. Sam went a couple of times and did not do very good, but then I went and did great. I placed my two coins in with this whatever attitude and by my surprise the ball dropped right into the jackpot hole! Literally it did not bounce around it just went straight in. I won the Jackpot of a 185 tickets. I was pumped until this old man and women came up to me and the old geezer laughs and said my wife just won the ultra jackpot and we got 1700 tickets. In my head I was like well good for you mister. I wanted to say aren't you to old to play these games, but I realized I was to old myself. Oh well at least I won something!!!!

Booyah
Booyah!! I just finished my English poster project. I feel so good and happy right now. Also, church was amazing this morning. I am looking forward to a great week. The only bog thing I have to really focus on is my persuasive speech on Friday. That will be exciting. I am going to persuade my audience to go on planned short term mission trips. I am putting an emphasis of it having to be planned, so if you choose to go on a mission trip you will actually know you will be of some sort of help.
It is a very beautiful day outside and I actually want to go play tennis. I have recently became obsessed with playing tennis and every time my friends suggest doing something I speak up and try to persuade everyone to go play. It has not really worked out. I guess people feel like you have to be good to play. I remember when I use to struggle with hitting the ball because I thought you had to hit it hard all the time. In reality if you are the more controlled player you will do better. I always try to tell my friends that it does not matter how good you are we are only playing for fun.
I cannot wait for the summer. I am going to take summer classes, but I am also going back to Haiti and Ethiopia for mission trips. I am so pumped and ready to go hard for Jesus. If you have never been on a international mission trip before I highly recommend it. The good news is though a mission trip in the US is just as important and on emotional standpoint just as full filling. Serving in general where ever you are is the best. You will meet some of the most joyful people.

Thankful
I went back to Nashville for Easter to see some friends I have not seen in a while. One of them is a good friend of mine and actually allowed me to live with him half of my sophmore year in high school. He decided to join the Marines and is leaving next week for training. It was great to see him before he leaves for about five months. I also got see another one of my good friends, so it was like a little reunion. Since all my family lives in Memphis I did not get to spend Easter with them, but I am thankful for my friends families that offer their homes to me when I go to Nashville. Nothing beats freinds who treat you as family. I honestly would not have recieved a good high school education if it was not for my friends allowing me to live with them so I did not have to move back to Memphis or Mississippi. For that I am so thankful. It is crazy how God provides. I will never forget Freshman year in high school when I was so close to moving back to either Memphis or Mississippi, and my friends family had a meeting and decided they would take me in. I remeber the day the father told me that I was more then welcomed to stay and it brought me so much joy. It was hard at times not living with my own family, but I did what I had to to get a good education. I think this stage in my life made it easier for me to come to college. I miss my family, but in the mist of feeling far from them God comforts me. For this I am eternally thankful. Happy Easter

Fools Gold
I have been listening to this song called fools gold and it made me think about things in my life that are fools gold. It could be from the simplest thing of wanting material things or conforming to what friends say that will satisfy life or bring happiness. The songs main theme is pointing out that what we think will last for happiness will essentially fail or disappoint us. After listening to it a few times I concluded for myself to become content in whatever situation I am in or whatever I have. I believe once you become content then you can begin to be thankful and experience joy instead of filling empty and wanting more. Contentedness just brings a different perspective of what life can be like. Instead always chasing after things we can be content and use what we have to help others. I am not saying to not strive for goals, but to not allow goals or materials to control the satisfaction of your life. A basic example in my own life is growing up wanting a lot of money. It was not until I was around an environment of wealth that I realized that money can not even make you happy. I have a goal of becoming a doctor which pays a lot of money, but I know I will be fine with not becoming a doctor because it is not about the money, but rather working to help others. Maybe after reading this you will be inspired to find fools gold elements in your own life.

Rest?
Usually breaks from school are great times for rest. This has never been the case for me. I was in action all week. What was ironic is while I was constantly doing stuff I felt rest because it was things I enjoyed. One of my highlights was being able to play with my niece and nephew. They are two and three and they are like energizer bunnies. They just keep going and going. It was great playing with them though. It was sad when I had to leave my sisters house to go see my grandpa and my nephew clung unto my leg and begged me not to go. It feels so good to have family love and enjoy being around you. I rarely get to see the fam because they all live in Memphis. God blessed me with a great week. It is great how Jesus works. He knew I longed to see my big family and it our SB was perfect timing for when my oldest brother and his fiance would be in Memphis when I was. So I got to to see everyone, but my brother who lives in Clarksville. God is Gucci!!!!
I also went to the theater to watch Hunger Games. It was awesome. I did not want to read the books, but after watching the movie I changed my mind. This will be the first time that I will read books that have movies to go with them. I am a movie kind of person, so this is a big deal. I look forward to the week and I hope whoever is reading this has a blessed week. God Bless You!!!!

Spring Break
My brother came up this weekend from Memphis and it was great. We went bowling Friday night and went to a movie on Saturday. Hanging out with him this weekend made me want Spring break to come faster. I am going to Memphis on Spring break to see all the family. I am planning on taking my niece and nephew to the zoo which Memphis has an amazing zoo. Also my moms birthday is this Saturday so that will be exciting. I am also looking forward to going to church with my mom, brother, and sisters. Nothing beats going to church with the family. After church you get to talk about the message and have some fellowship.
The great thing about this week is not having as much class. We do not have English class because of conferences and I gave my speech last week so I get to just relax in speech class. This will make the week go by even faster. I can not wait until Friday when I am counting down the minutes when my last class is over so I can go get into my car and bust a move to Memphis. I'm going to be blasting my radio and just having a great six hour long rode trip. The good thing is I will have a few friends ridding with me so it won't be a boring trip.
It will be a great week off!!!

Fun
This weekend was great. Friday night my roommate and I went and saw the movie The Lorax! Not only was the movie excellent, but the car ride there was interesting. The drive was calm most of the way there, but then out of no where hail and rain came crashing down unto my car. It got so fierce that I had to pull over until it calmed down. My roommate mentioned that we should prolly go back to campus, but I said no way we are seeing this movie. We proceeded to the theater and out of nowhere a beautiful lightning bolt shout down in front of us. It was very close, so we got a great look at it. We finally arrived to the theater safely and I did not expect the movie to be as childish as it was. It was still a great movie and made me feel like a kid again.
Saturday I woke up early for this world view conference at my church. It was incredible. We had some good speakers and the theme was how to convey the Gospel in your world view. After a couple of hours the conference ended and I came back to campus. I did not realize that there was a basketball game until the day of the game, but I managed to still get a ticket. The game was exciting and we won. So go VOLS! I enjoyed the game besides playing musical chairs because the student section was full, therefore forcing students to sit in the upper deck. I did not realize that they were issuing tickets for the students, so I assumed I could sit whereever there was an open seat. It was not long that my friends and I got kicked out of the seats because they belonged to someone else. The good news is we got some tickets and found some seats after moving three times.
