Procrastination
So I went back home this weekend and we all no how that turns out. I did not do really anything that is school related. Instead I just hung out with friends and we went to go see Tom Hanks new movie called Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close! This movie was great and you should go see it. So anyways I had planned on working on my speech that I had to give today over the weekend, but like I said going home results in relaxation. When I got back to Knoxville last night I decided it was time to work on my speech and thats when I realized that it needed a lot of work. I made an outline and practiced for a while, but I just felt like it was not very good. I practiced a lot more this mourning and I began to feel more confident. As it became time for me to deliver this speech I remeber praying to God to forgive me of my laziness and that he would comfort me through my speech. Finally my name was called in the class to give my speech and I was extremely nervous because I felt like I had not practiced enough. To make things worse I was sweating profusely as I made my way to the stand. When I got up there and noticed everyone staring at me I gulped and introduced myself. After a brief introduction my teacher gave me the go ahead to start and what can I say, God came to my rescue and I spoke better then before. After I was done everyone clapped and said I did amazing. I truly thanked God for coming to my rescue and forgiving me for my laziness to not practice over the weekend. God is good!!!!!!!!!!

Christian, great story.
ReplyDeleteI love when God obviously and openly answers prayers and the moment when we actually recognize it!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you too this semester.
So glad that your speech turned out well! Public speaking is always a bit nerve-wracking, but I am happy that you handled the stress well and did a great job.
